Its a Saturday and today we had birthday party rentals of the Centre. Our goals are to raise funds and share the gospel. We use the petting farm for sharing the gospel, that's my favorite area of the Centre for this. There are just so many ways to talk about Jesus through these animals. From one of our donkeys who has a cross on his back to our snakes who remind us of the story of how sin began.
Today, I was able to take 20 kids and three adults through our Petting Farm while sharing the gospel.
There was one boy who was hard to handle. He was one of those kids whose words were always interrupting mine and he was so loud that everyone had no choice but listen - the kind of kid you wish would just stop talking so you could say something uninterrupted. This kid surprised me in a way that I know it was the Lord. He spoke in his loud way so all heard, "And sin means we are going to die one day." I hadn't even gotten to that part of the story yet!
It surprised me because I didn't think he was actually paying attention to my words. But also surprised because everyone was silent at the hearing of this.
It was a captive audience to this truth. My response was just to agree and let them all know that no matter how old or young we are, we will one day die because of our own sins but Jesus....
He showed me His power and sovereignty to even share the gospel. Its only the Lord who can take any situation and any one (even an annoying child) to make His truth heard. He used a donkey to speak truth to a Old Testament prophet. He doesn't need me. I'm just thankful that He is using me.
