My November Newsletter

Dear brothers and sisters,
First, I just want to thank everyone for all the prayers and cards sent to me after the death of my sister. It was such a hard trip to make; having just left NY with good memories and needing to return with so much sadness. What encouraged me most was all the love that everyone had for me. It was shown in how everyone loved my sister, who many had never met, because they loved me first. It was John 13:35 lived out. Thank you.

Many of you know that I teach kids here at the ALC (Adventure Learning Centre) and use that to share the gospel with each child that comes through the doors. But many of you may not know that this is only one of three parts to the ALC that I'm involved in. There is a Camp and a program called Patmos. The Centre is where I am mostly.
In the last month at the Centre, know that well over 800 kids have come here and heard the gospel clearly! Add to that another 1200 men, women, and children who attended a recent Fun Day. A Fun Day is a carnival type of event where we were able to share the Gospel with them in many ways. On a train ride they were able to take a journey through time to the life of Jeremiah and using his life as an opportunity to share. I was again able to share Jesus with many of those who entered the Petting Farm.
There are some testimonies of conversations that I had with people during a past Fun Day. You can look at those on my blogspot:

One of the other parts of the ALC is the Camp. It's where discipleship happens usually on a mission trip. When available, I can join them in their activities. I've been able to go to the AIDS camp with teens and later that night hear testimonies of how it impacted them. So much can change in a person's heart on a mission trip…most of you know that it was at this Camp that the Lord led me to the ALC almost five years ago.
The newest part of the ALC is called Patmos. The word Patmos means "my killing" and that’s what it is a place where your flesh must die so that Christ will increase within you. It’s the place where we make disciples to send out.
It’s a new program to us that will begin in January. You can look it up more on it on the internet at
www.realitydiscipleship.org
For all these things we need much prayer!
At the Camp, a new bathhouse has been a long awaited goal! With it more people can come and be impacted by the Lord's work happening here. Most of you know how small and old the current bathhouse is.
For the Centre and Patmos, there is a need to complete the upper barn area. It is to be a resting place for us as teachers in the afternoon and in the mornings, a classroom for the Patmos program. The hope and prayer is that these will be finished by January 22nd, when the students come. Finances, materials, and people are also needed to complete them on time.
There are so many wonderful things going on here so I hope you will be a part of it all through prayer. If the Lord leads you to donate financially, you can send a donation to the Adventure Learning Centre, P.O. Box 93

6548, Margate, FL 33093-6548. Please label for whatever project you feel lead to give too.
Please pray for me also. Most of my requests are posted on my blog. But for those who don't know, much of my requests are: for two little girls who used to live near me (they need Jesus), for decisions of whether to come to NY for Christmas or do something else, and prayer for my financial support for the rest of this school year.
My goal is to send out another letter next month to update you on all these prayer requests so please pray hard!

Your sister in the Lord,
jenn mingo
