But what you may find interesting is the recent elections down here in the Bahamas.

They get a little carried away with elections. Its a little bit like Junkino (the festival of dancing and parades that celebrates the culture). Its fun for awhile but the issues that should be the focus sometimes get left behind in all the fun. This is how it works: there are four parties but two that are "real parties". The FNM and the PLP. They have all sorts of rallies for the month before election and all ages come to enjoy rooting for their party.

They each have their trademark color; red for FNM and the PLP orange.
Its getting carried away with "party rooting" so many of us cannot wait until after Wednesday's vote. Going as far as throwing things and a bullet hole in a building.
A funny quote that I've heard from two kids, neither of them more than 6 years old, one even danced while she said it, and on separate occasions was "I'm voting for the....! Who are you voting for?" It really doesn't matter which party it was, just that they were convinced that the election is a cheering competition!
Maybe you had to be there to fully laugh at them but I thought it quote worthy non the less!
PS notice the little girl on the bottom of this picture at this late night rally?

But in all seriousness, please pray for those who will be elected. These people are over us and will help or hinder us in this ministry. God is over them but He uses the faithful prayers of righteous people to do much. Please pray for us.
