Sassy Sam and Carey finally moved away. I will miss them so .
For those who don't know them, they are two of the neighbor kids who would come up and hangout in my apartment. For the last three months they have been "moving out" but today they did.
I did get to enjoy this last day with them. Their stepmother asked me to watch Carey (4 years old) and their youngest Keira (10 months) while the movers did the work - from 7am to almost 9pm. And while she was at the new place, Sam (12 years old) also stayed with me.
We did everything that we had not found time for before; making cookies together like I promised and going over to the Centre for one last ride down the supper slide. I was even able to take Sam aside and have a last talk with her.
I felt like an overwhelmed mom but loved every minute of it. Even when the apartment looked like a twister went threw it and no matter how much they cleaned up after themselves, it was never really clean, I loved it. I think that I learned a lot about having kids - my prayers go out to you mothers who have more than three!
Please pray for these girls. They don't know the Lord...yet. Their family life is hard. And they probably don't see anyway out of the life those around them live; a life of young unmarried mothers and anger that is quick to hit. I hope that in all of us here these girls could see that this is not the way life was meant to be. We were made to be free, not slaves to our sin.
These girls are like all the kids who come here. They need Jesus.

They're gone. That's it, huh?
Wow. They were such beautiful girls, too. Are they moving somewhere close by, or further away? Any chance you'll ever see them again?
Take care, Mingy! Love ya!
