This ends my second week of counseling (I counsel every other week). I have the older kids (10-12) so I've been able to invest more into them. This week, my co-counselor and I challenged them each day to read their bible and pray. Each day, we'd add something to challenge them to get deeper; praying alone and for five minutes strait, reading their bible and asking questions like "What is it telling me about God?", and to even write down what they learned.
My hope and pray is that they continue with this healthy habit long after camp. When it comes down to it, if they know Him as their Savior then it is God who is at work in them both to will and to work in them for His good pleasure (Phil 2:13). I get the honor of encouraging them to know Him more. I love my job!
